M/Y INTERCONTINENTAL now sold, will relaunch under YACHTZOO management as ANNA
ANNA is set to be the first officially chartered superyacht in Japan.
We are excited to announce that the yacht INTERCONTINENTAL, 82’ (25m) Horizon, is now renamed ANNA and has officially been sold in an in-house deal in Japan.
This is an industry milestone as ANNA will become the first superyacht to be properly chartered in Japan, a significant global first for the yachting world.
ANNA will be managed by YACHTZOO Japan, leveraging the company’s expertise and longstanding presence in the region. Additionally charter management will be handled by the YACHTZOO Monaco charter team, linking two amazing yachting hubs.
As a leading player in the superyacht industry, YACHTZOO is changing the superyacht experience in Japan through its deep-rooted knowledge and hands-on expertise.
As the first Western yacht brokerage to establish an office in Japan, YACHTZOO has been at the forefront of Japan’s yacht industry for well over a decade. This success is largely driven by an experienced team in Japan that has a combined more than 50 years of deep knowledge in both Japanese & Western superyacht industries.
With a base in Kobe, YACHTZOO offers tailor-made sale, charter, new build, and management solutions to Japanese clients.
M/Y INTERCONTINENTAL, a meticulously maintained Horizon 82’ yacht, features an open-plan main deck with a large salon and a country kitchen feel. The yacht offers four staterooms, including a king-size master suite with modern dark wood and light fabric accents featuring 障子 (shoji screens), an ensuite bathroom with his and hers sinks, a shower, and a 日本式の浴槽 (Japanese soaking tub). The VIP also features a king bed. Future charter guests of M/Y ANNA will enjoy ample space for multiple water toys, with an enclosed flybridge and comfortable skylounge and sundeck with outdoor lounge behind. ANNA’s principle cruising area will be the Seto Naikai (Inland Sea) but will be available in other parts of Japan too.
YACHTZOO’s charter division has been instrumental in formulating a Japan-focused Charter Agreement in collaboration with APSA (Asia Pacific Superyacht Association) and Teji | Cowie, a superyacht & maritime law firm based in Asia & Europe. The agreement is paving the way to expand the Japan charter market to international luxury clients.
“YACHTZOO’s success in Japan stems from an understanding of this unique market and its complex business culture,” says Nigel Beatty.
Japan stretches over 1,600 nautical miles from north to south with over 14,000 islands and more coastline than the United States or Australia, offering immense cruising potential that requires detailed local knowledge.
The YACHTZOO team don’t just operate here; we live within the culture with unparalleled expertise in the domestic yachting community coupled with a wealth of experience in superyachts worldwide.”
