YACHTZOO proudly announced the official launch of M/Y ALYRA, a 75-metre superyacht concept by renowned German shipyard Dorries Yachts in collaboration with the visionary Phathom Studio. The launch took place on the 25th of September at the Monaco Yacht Show, where the unveiling at the YACHTZOO stand drew an impressive crowd celebrating a bold new direction in luxury yacht design.
Derived from the Arabic word for “sky” or “heavenly,” ALYRA embodies a sense of lightness and openness throughout her five fluid decks. Conceived not as a static object but as a sequence of living spaces, the design rethinks the traditional hierarchy of yacht living, ensuring every guest enjoys outward-facing views, direct access to recreational spaces and a strong vertical connection between decks.
Key features include five VIP guest suites, each with a private balcony and access to a dedicated wellness deck with gym and terrace. The owner’s deck offers a striking forward terrace with a 5.2-metre pool, floor-to-ceiling glazing and a skylight over the master suite. Inside, a panoramic saloon delivers 180-degree views, complemented by multiple lounges, dining spaces, a bar and a dramatic garden atrium with a full-grown tree extending across one and a half decks.
Wellness is at the core of the concept, with a “Spa Sanctuary” aft that integrates a flush current pool, sculpted aqua loungers, a transom hot tub, and a pool bar. Retractable glass and fold-out balconies blur the boundary between interior and exterior, creating a constant dialogue with the sea. Double-height spaces and fluid deck transitions reinforce the outward-facing, immersive design philosophy.
Founded in 2019, Phathom Studio is an award-winning Dutch design house known for breaking away from fixed styles and creating immersive experiences that prioritize usability and comfort. Their portfolio includes Gulf Craft’s Majesty 111, winner of “Best Interior Design” at the 2023 World Yacht Trophies, among other innovative superyacht projects.
