The YACHTZOO team is delighted to announce the addition of M/Y INSIGNIA to its sales fleet. INSIGNIA is a 55.60m luxury superyacht originally built by Elsflether Werft Germany as M/Y HANSE for Baron von Thyssen. She carried the name until 2002, when her new owners chose Insignia Yachts to bring this classic yacht into the 21st Century. The mandate given was to provide the project management with a no-expense-spared major refit aimed at converting this classic and nautically sturdy blue-water vessel into a modern day superyacht of incomparable luxury that would match its seaworthiness.

Insignia Yachts enlisted the help of Luiz de Basto to handle the exterior restyling and carry out a complete revamp of the entire interior layout. The original boat was stripped down to the metal of the hull, which was then extensively altered through stylistic and structural additions. The interiors were completely reborn and were created on a completely new foundation, which required all the invisible infrastructure be built afresh.

M/Y INSIGNIA features seven spacious staterooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and comfortable beds, capable of hosting a total of 14 guests ensuring pleasure and supreme privacy. The spacious master suite is located forward on the main deck, with spectacular and un-obstructed panoramic views out to sea. It features a king-size bed, a study desk, a 12 square-metre ‘his and hers’ marble bathrooms as well as a steam bath, with central rain-shower spa and a walk-in dressing room.

The very attractive VIP suite, on the lower deck stretches across the full beam, with a queen-size bed set to one side and a comfortable seating area opposite. The splendid bath-room includes a two-person Jacuzzi tub as well as a shower and there is a generous amount of storage in a lobby between the bedroom and the bathroom.

A flexible arrangement of guest staterooms can accommodate a wide variety of guests. Three of the staterooms have a twin bed arrangement that can easily be changed to a king-size bed. As well, the same guest staterooms each have an additional Pullman bed. Located in the lazarette area of the lower deck, a separate sauna with a dressing room and a shower room is also available to the guests.

The main deck lounge is furnished to offer maximum relaxation with a bar to port and two large sofas. The yacht’s main salon is very large with elegant yet comfortable sofas. It includes an entertainment centre with widescreen TV and a library of movies, music, books and board games.

INSIGNIA’s main dining area is forward of the main salon, separated by the large central staircase that lead from lower to the sundeck. Located at the main deck amidships, the din-ing area has a 14-person sitting capability to host all the vessel’s guests at once, for lunch or dinner, in a formal or casual setting.

Guests can enjoy 180-degree views from the glass-enclosed sky lounge, which is equipped with a surround sound media system and a large flatscreen TV. The doors open to aft and lead to the ship’s most prestigious dining area, on the upper deck aft, with a 270-degree view.

On the sundeck, a ‘wet’ bar is available to serve chilled drinks with some background music to set the mood. A huge tanning area lies ahead of the Jacuzzi. There is also a selection of gym equipment and a flybridge.

Listed at EUR 8,500,000, M/Y INSIGNIA is VAT-paid and currently lying in Athens, Greece.
