Overview

Presenting GOLDEN HORIZON, the largest tall ship ever launched. With her five awe-inspiring masts, mighty size and unparalleled features, any trip on her promises to be truly epic. Although delivered in 2021, she has been designed as a near-identical replica of the 1913-built France II and retains all the charm, adventure and romance of the early 20th century square-riggers. As you embark on your adventure with this ship you will be transported back to the days of cruising and discovery, further enhanced by the traditional yet luxurious aesthetic of the ship’s interior.

Her classical 140 staterooms are flexible in their configuration and so she is able to sleep up to 274 people in a variety of layouts allowing for different groupings or last minute changes. Whether you are looking for an adventure of a lifetime for a large group, an unforgettable wedding party or for a unique corporate event, GOLDEN HORIZON is the perfect venue. Like those pioneering ships before her, she is first and foremost a sailing ship geared to seeking adventures and journeying to exotic destinations. She is able to reach up to 17 knots when under sail, without propulsion engines and the Captain and crew will strive to create well-planned itineraries, whether in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Indian Ocean or anywhere else, where they can show of her sailing prowess as much as possible. This allows the GOLDEN HORIZON to act as a ‘green ship’ with a remarkably low carbon footprint for her impressive size. There can be plenty of opportunities for guests to get involved in the sailing if they desire.

A wide variety of activities are on offer from the 157 crew and they are open to sourcing and arranging further options depending on your needs. During the day you have access to the theatre and function room and depending on your needs there can be talks from a guest speaker. Up on deck there could be wine-tasting, cooking demonstrations, games, and quizzes. More adventurous guests can try their hand at sailing by helping the crew to deploy the sails. They can also head to the water sports centre to use the ship’s kayaks, dinghies, Seabobs, water skis and towables. If you prefer a change of pace there are stand up paddle boards or snorkelling. The resident diving instructor can offer training in the 18ft diving pool on board, or open water dives can be arranged via rendezvous. As well as the deep dive pool there are a further two pools on deck and an entire wellness suite which offers spas, jacuzzi, sauna, a beauty treatment salon and on the sun deck yoga sessions are regularly held as you enjoy the sea air.

Dinner may be served in the spectacular two storey art deco dining room with it’s curved wrought-iron balconies and natural light flooding in through the swimming pool sky light and the numerous portholes. Afterwards you can enjoy the ambience of the piano bar with its resident musicians. Outside there are two bars available should you wish to enjoy a drink on the deck, while Debeljak’s is a premium beverage bar serving the finest whiskey and gins. Alternatively you can retire for a nightcap in the library.
